The rapid development of technologies such as Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR), and Artificial Intelligence (AI) is reshaping the production, dissemination, and consumption of news. This article investigates how these technologies affect journalistic practices and pose new, complex ethical dilemmas. The study is based on a qualitative methodology, specifically semi-structured interviews with journalists working in both traditional and online media. The findings indicate that while these technologies offer new possibilities for storytelling, interaction, and audience engagement, they also heighten journalists’ concerns about misinformation, the reduction of human oversight in content production, and the erosion of trust in journalistic work. In particular, participants note that the use of Artificial Intelligence for automated news creation and the integration of Virtual and Augmented Reality in journalistic products blur the lines between what is real and what is constructed. As the line between the real and the digitally reproduced becomes increasingly indistinct, the article emphasizes the importance of maintaining core journalistic principles and the need to develop a contemporary ethical framework that addresses the challenges posed by technological advances.
