Περίληψη

At 23:18 on February 28th, 2023, a head-on train collision occurs between a passenger and a cargo train in Tempe, resulting in 57 deaths, 81 heavily wounded and a lot more lightly injured. This has sparked a wave of protests and extensive public discourse scrutinizing inadequate railway security, responsibilities and wrongdoings of current and former government officials as well as broader political discourse fueled by differing political views and ideologies. The aim of this paper is to provide an analysis of public discourse which occured on X in the period after the publication of the Hellenic Aviation and Railway Safety Investigation Agency report, by means of hashtag network analysis.
