Συμμετοχική δημοσιογραφία και νέα επιχειρηματικά μοντέλα: Η περίπτωση της Minute Media
Περίληψη
Media enterprises have changed significantly in recent years due to the digital revolution and rapid technological changes. The new communication landscape has brought significant changes, even in the business model of the media. These new facts along with the global financial crisis that broke out in 2008 and the recession it created have caused significant changes in the business model of the media. The aim of this paper is to reveal how one of the developments of the new communication landscape, participatory journalism, can provide an outlet for the business model of the media. By the term participatory journalism, we mean the citizens that take the place of journalists and inform, creating primary information through their personal blogs and now via social media and their mobile devices. In the frame of on participatory journalism, sports website group Minutesmedia, since its launch in 2011, relies on fans of sports events to provide information on its website and social media accounts. Today, this group is going through a period of growth, has offices in nine cities around the world, employs more than 500 people and is constantly hiring, having evolved into a profitable business.
