Διερεύνηση των στάσεων απέναντι στη χρήση μηχανισμών παιχνιδοποίησης και ο ρόλος της μαθησιακής προσέγγισης στο πλαίσιο της εξ αποστάσεως εκπαίδευσης

Περίληψη
Τα τελευταία χρόνια, ολοένα και περισσότερες τεχνικές και χαρακτηριστικά της παιχνιδοποίησης (gamification) ενσωματώνονται σε εκπαιδευτικά περιβάλλοντα, όπως, για παράδειγμα, στην εξ αποστάσεως εκπαίδευση. Η δυναμική αυτή απεικονίζεται και στην αύξηση των ερευνών που ασχολούνται με τη μελέτη του φαινομένου του gamification, η οποία εστιάζει κυρίως στη διερεύνηση των παραγόντων που επηρεάζουν την αποτελεσματική εφαρμογή του σε διάφορους τομείς. Στο ίδιο πνεύμα με προηγούμενες ερευνητικές προσπάθειες, η παρούσα μελέτη έχει ως στόχο, αφενός, να διερευνήσει τις στάσεις των συμμετεχόντων στην έρευνα έναντι του gamification και, αφετέρου, να εξετάσει το ρόλο που διαδραματίζει η μαθησιακή προσέγγιση αυτών, στις στάσεις τους έναντι του gamification. Για την επίτευξη αυτού του στόχου διενεργήθηκε εμπειρική έρευνα με χρήση ερωτηματολογίου που διανεμήθηκε σε δυνητικούς χρήστες του gamification, στον τομέα της εξ αποστάσεως εκπαίδευσης. Συνολικά συγκεντρώθηκαν 399 έγκυρα ερωτηματολόγια. Τα αποτελέσματα της έρευνας, καταρχήν, ανέδειξαν τις ιδιαίτερα θετικές στάσεις των ερωτώμενων τόσο σε σχέση με την εξ αποστάσεως εκπαίδευση, όσο και με τη χρήση μηχανισμών του gamification. Ωστόσο, διαπιστώθηκε διαφοροποίηση των ερωτώμενων ως προς το βαθμό της θετικής αξιολόγησης που απέδωσαν στους επιμέρους μηχανισμούς του gamification που εξετάστηκαν. Το εύρημα αυτό υποδηλώνει ότι απαιτείται ιδιαίτερη προσοχή εκ μέρους των εκπαιδευτών ως προς την επιλογή των μηχανισμών του gamification που θα ενσωματώσουν σε ένα περιβάλλον εξ αποστάσεως εκπαίδευσης, καθόσον τα ιδιαίτερα χαρακτηριστικά των δυνητικών εκπαιδευόμενων φαίνεται να απαιτούν προσφορά εξατομικευμένου μίγματος τεχνικών και χαρακτηριστικών του gamification. Επιπρόσθετα, η παρούσα έρευνα κατέδειξε ότι η μαθησιακή προσέγγιση των εκπαιδευόμενων, όταν είναι ουσιαστική, επιδρά θετικά στις στάσεις τους έναντι του gamification. Ωστόσο, σημειώνεται ότι αυτή η σχέση διαμεσολαβείται από τη θετική στάση έναντι της εξ αποστάσεως εκπαίδευσης. Δηλαδή, οι ερωτώμενοι που δήλωσαν ότι έχουν περισσότερο ουσιαστική μαθησιακή προσέγγιση τείνουν να εμφανίζουν και θετικότερη στάση έναντι της εξ αποστάσεως εκπαίδευσης, η οποία με τη σειρά της συντελεί σε θετικότερη στάση έναντι του gamification. Τα ευρήματα της παρούσας μελέτης θα μπορούσαν να αξιοποιηθούν από εκπαιδευτικούς οργανισμούς που προσφέρουν προγράμματα εξ αποστάσεως εκπαίδευσης και ενδιαφέρονται για τη χρήση μηχανισμών του gamification.
