Το άρθρο παρουσιάζει μία βιβλιογραφική ανασκόπηση ερευνών σχετικά με τους παράγοντες που επηρεάζουν τους διδάσκοντες ιδρυμάτων τριτοβάθμιας εκπαίδευσης στην ενσωμάτωση των ΤΠΕ ή την υιοθέτηση του eLearning στην εκπαιδευτική διαδικασία. Εξετάζει ερευνητικά άρθρα και διδακτορικές διατριβές που δημοσιεύτηκαν την τελευταία δεκαετία και περιγράφουν εμπειρικές έρευνες που πραγματοποιήθηκαν σε ιδρύματα τριτοβάθμιας εκπαίδευσης ανά τον κόσμο, όπως αυτά εντοπίσθηκαν από τις βάσεις Science Direct και ERIC, EThOS και OpenThesis. Καταγράφει τον μεθοδολογικό σχεδιασμό των υπό εξέταση ερευνών, τα σημαντικότερα ερευνητικά ερωτήματα και τα αποτελέσματα των ερευνών όσον αφορά στους παράγοντες που εμποδίζουν την ενσωμάτωση των ΤΠΕ ή την υιοθέτηση του eLearning. Από την ανάλυση των αποτελεσμάτων προέκυψαν 17 παράγοντες οι οποίοι ιεραρχήθηκαν και ταξινομήθηκαν σε κατηγορίες. Από αυτούς, οι παράγοντες που απαντήθηκαν συχνότερα ήταν η έλλειψη τεχνικών γνώσεων και δεξιοτήτων των διδασκόντων, ο ανεπαρκής εξοπλισμός / υποδομές ΤΠΕ και η έλλειψη τεχνικής υποστήριξης των διδασκόντων, οι οποίοι συζητήθηκαν σε σχέση με άλλες ερευνητικές ανασκοπήσεις.
