HNPS2020 - First Circular

Dear Members of the HNPS, Dear Colleagues,

It is our pleasure to announce that the 2020 Symposium of the Hellenic Nuclear Physics Society (HNPS) will be held on Friday 29 May and Saturday 30 May, 2020 at the National Center for Scientific Research “Demokritos”.

This is the 29th of a series of annual symposia held by the HNPS since 1990.

The scientific areas covered by the Symposium are Theoretical and Experimental Nuclear Physics, as well as Applications of the Nuclear Science.

The 29th Symposium of HNPS will be jointly organized by the Institute of Nuclear and Particle Physics (INPP) and the Institute of Nuclear & Radiological Sciences and Technology, Energy & Safety (INRASTES) of the National Center for Scientific Research “Demokritos” (NCSRD).

The Symposium will be held at the Auditorium of the Demokritos Congress Center located in the NCSRD campus in Aghia Paraskevi, 10 km away from the Athens city center.

Sessions will include Oral (15 min + 5 min for discussion) and Poster presentations.  Registration and abstract submission should be done on line at the symposium website:  http://www.inp.demokritos.gr/hnps2020/

As in every year, the Symposium Proceedings will be published by the Hellenic Nuclear Physics Society in a special Volume entitled “HNPS 2020: Advances in Nuclear Physics” and will be uploaded to the e-Publishing platform and national indexing accumulation infrastructures provided by the National Documentation Center (EKT). Please note that there is a limit of 6 pages for the papers corresponding to oral presentations and 4 pages for posters.

Registration Opens:                 Friday, February 14th, 2020

Abstract submission deadline:  Friday, April 10th, 2020

Notification of acceptance:       Thursday, April 30th, 2020

Full Manuscript submission deadline: Friday, July 31st, 2020

You are kindly asked to inform your colleagues and students about our symposium. Submissions by young researchers are strongly encouraged.

Accommodation

Accommodation in Athens should be arranged by the participants. Some hotels that offer reasonable prices and have easy access to and from NCSR “Demokritos” by public transport (metro and bus) are listed at the Symposium web-page.
